I switched from We steps with a Knaider Swaider setup. It worked but it was so much fiddle. I switched to one sticking repel down. its a game changer for me, I use EWO 15" stick with 3 step aider swiped in.

What do you use to attach the stick to the tree, OCB strap, amsteel daisy chain, etc.?
I have an EWO stick in my cart but can't believe how much it is!
Yes, but that was coming from a dark place brought on by a leaning tree I decided to climb on my first outing of the season. It’s a fun journey that is almost necessary. I’ve found that once a “better” way to get in a tree gets in my head, I can’t shake it. The only relief is to buy it and try it. It’s definitely a sickness.
I use a cam cleat he doesnt sell them on his site. yeah its expensive for sure but its top top notch. when you compare it to hawk or shikars even beast its much more pricey but i really really think its worth it.

Is it easy to add a cam cleat to a stick? What rope do you use for the cam cleat? And do you use a platform?

Super easy just drill two holes....I use 1/4 full bury amsteel works great super easy to do. I use a predator for now...thinking about putting a scout on my stick for those non-all day sits

Do you think I could get by using a Muddy pro stick and 2 WE steps as a platform? Does the stick weight really matter much for one sticking? I can handle tying two WE steps. I can get 4 muddy pro sticks for about the same price as one DanO stick and one Harken cam cleat off of amazon. Is there a big quality difference between the Muddy cam cleats and the Harken one?
You can use whatever you want. ive seen people use hawks for one sticking. I went with the shaffer cleat because im a bigger guy and it has a 300lb limit. ive tried the We steps as a platform and i wasnt a huge fan of it but you might be. The EWO stick is lighter than a muddy but if weight isnt an issue id run with the muddy. I was ok with spending the money on the EWO stick but everyone is different

DO IT! I did the same thing. Tried the WE steps for half a season, never got comfortable with them/fettle factor was more than I wanted so ditched them for a single stick. So worth it!!! Get a stick from DanO!!
