Any idea if this seals "air tight"?

the seal around the lid is pretty tight, but there are a few holes around the body of the trunk. Just how it was molded. I filled them up and now it seems pretty good

Same. I have two of these with the same part number, one had the gasket one doesn't. The one that doesn't seals pretty tight. I just ran a slight bead of gasket material in the seam, seals up tight as you like

Edited to add: Home Depot currently has them at the same price in stores. Ordered one from academy, going to get two more at HD tonight.
