After last season I wanted to reduce “fiddle factor” by not carrying my stepps inside my pack. Had the idea to try an Alps Pathfinder and figure out a way to carry the stepps on that. The AP has lots of buckles one could use to attach things, but I couldn’t imagine a way to do it and still detach the stepps without taking the whole thing off.

Decided to use the shoulder straps off of an old backpack. Still compatible with the AP or other fanny packs.

I sewed the webbing all the way around and it picks up the bottom of the stack of stepps when carrying the bag. Someone showed a picture on here carrying steps backpack style with just the standard strap and that is how they hooked it. So I took that idea and sewed it in.

The straps I sewed by copying the way they were on the backpack I harvested them from.
