Is there any way to make steel cables adjustable other than turnbuckles? I have an old steel Treesuit platform that I use a LW strap but I want to use it for a preset and use something that a tree rat can’t chew on.

You might consider chain and a mini boomer.

I have become a fan of a bolt on setup. I just predrill with my treehopper drill and then put in a lag bolt. I make my own platforms so I actually just weld on a loop of 1/4" rod that just slips over a preset bolt. I thought I would need to tighten it but it hasn't proven necessary. It kind of tripods off the bolt and the lower teeth. Very stable even with side loading.

Try at your own risk but it is working great for me. No more fiddling with straps.
