After three years I finally got my first deer!

Wow! Great story and great first deer. That's one of those rare events in your life that will be burned into your memory forever. Every little detail too. I know as my first was 46 seasons ago and it seems like it was yesterday . Again, big congrats and thanks for sharing.
 
Congrats!! Doing it the hard way on public land with a vert bow and sticking with it! Hell of a first deer. Love to see it!
 
That's an awesome first deer brother. Congratulations, you deserve it. Great story and I know it's one you'll never forget. Even though it was over 30 years ago I still remember my first deer like it was yesterday, and it was only a doe. That first deer is always the hardest and you should be able to start putting more deer in freezer on a regular basis from here on out. Hopefully your season is not completely over and you can still get out knock down a doe or two? No better way to get more experience than filling tags.
