First time saddle hunter and just did my 5th climb practicing but this time I did used all my sticks. So I have the Tethrd Skeletors sticks. I have a double sewn aider for the bottom stick from (Hang free). Happy with it. I was able to get to 17’ with 4 sticks. I’m 6’ and need some help:

should I get the single aider sewn by hang free or go with a single Amstel aider? Looking at adding two the three other sticks but may drop one stick and just roll with three that would get me to at least 20’

thanks for your help.

My recommendation- I'm a big believer in the K.I.S.S. system. Stay with what you're comfortable with. If you like the Hang Free aiders, stick with them, then everything is the SAME going up & down. Amsteel aiders are fine, but your aider is kept open by the way it is made. (Note-Amsteel aiders can be bought or modified to do the same thing.)Not a big deal when ascending, but if you also climb down on the same system in the dark, you may want aiders that stay open so your feet will more easily find them.

Not a fan of multiple step aiders, but one added to each stick is nice. And you can keep make it out of pretty much anything. I used some friction cord for mine when I used 3 sticks. I made one out of amsteel I have on a 36” helium stick for one sticking……just tie it on the bottom steps.
