New to the saddle hunting and was pondering the cheapest way to carry all climbing sticks and pack out a deer if successful. I believe I have found the cheapest solution. I bought Hawk helium’s and haven’t modified them ( I understand why people do if they don’t have $350 for a good pack to carry them). I got an Alice Military backpack frame. I took the cam buckle straps off the sticks and used them to secure the sticks to the frame. I cut out and zip tied an old foam sleeping pad for comfort. My sticks are rock solid to the frame and don’t rattle at all. There is plenty of room to quarter deer and pack meat onto the frame. I will carry accessories in a cheap fanny pack I bought on amazon. I will be using a ring of steps and H2 saddle. Can’t wait till season!
