Alternate daisy chain method

I really like that. I never even thought of using it like a truckers hitch (which I should’ve considering how much I use a truckers hitch when I go camping for tarp shelters/rain flys). Definitely gonna try that on my next hunt

tried it on my predator this morning. Working great. No slippage and I haven’t tumbled out of the air yet.

Yeah, I'm considering this also. What diameter amsteel? For a platform, I might go up to 1/8". Would probably work great on a Tree Suit also. Are you finishing your tag ends just like on the video? I'll probably try several ways. I do my steps with a trucker's hitch now, but I'm not standing on them for 6 hours, so my ending method for them might cause slow sag on a platforum.

I used 7/64 as that is all I had at the moment I decided to do it. I will probably step one up to 1/8" As for finishing the tag end; after fighting the tag end via the truckers hitch I took the tag end back across the top of the versa button, down and behind the loop that is used to hook the daisy chain to the versa button initially. That right there gets so tight once you load the weight on its crazy. It was so solid on the tree, I could barely believe it. It was more solid than a versa strap, cam buckle, daisy chain, or regular ol rope mod.

Thanks. I'm considering doing this for the Predator but also a Tree Suit. The Tree Suit doesn't have a versabutton though, so I've been pondering ways to finish it up. I don't like half hitches much because they can be tough to untie with gloves on and just in general. If you or anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.

Any reason why this wouldn’t work on Tethrd versalinks?
I tried tonight. I didn't pull the ball through, and that took up the extra line. Very tight. I tried with 7/64 and Versa links, and both work. Just don't go too tight, as one was a little harder to remove.

I don't like the half hitch at the end - you can actually see it slipping after he lets go of it in the video. If you lock it in underneath the main line (like w the standard amsteel rope mod) after pulling it tight, it can't slip. Single Half hitches seldom hold tight with regular rope and with amsteel being ultra slick it's even more likely to slip

This works very well with the Predator platform as well. If your trucker's hitch is to the right, then bring the tag end of the hitch under the rope to the left of the versabutton while holding tension, then loop around the button and bring it behind the mess of ropes to the right of the button, pull the daisy chain down and make sure it is tucked tight and then finish it how you'd like (I just wrap the daisy chain around the button over and over until I run out of daisy chain). Put weight on it and it is extremely tight.

You basically tuck the daisy chain in behind everything on the stick so that your weight locks it in, just like what was common with the rope mod.

Yep! It gets so tight this way that you can't even attempt to pull it out without uncamming the platform?
