My mom’s friend is selling this machine. Anyone know what it is?
I have a Domestic rotary 153 which is the same machine with a different badge. Bobbins are readily available. Kenmore also made a similar rotary that uses the same accessories. Its a very strong machine from the late 40's - early 50's. it is a straight stich with reverse. I love mine. That looks like a white rotary 77
I picked up one fromFB for free (along with a singer 66). Both were marketed as unknown vintage sewing machines free, pick up today. I never fixed it up.
It is not a 15 clone. The presser feet are different. The hook is rotary and not oscillating. I don’t even know what style bobbin it uses. I put it up for free on FB and no one even asked about it.
If that machine is a white rotary 77, I would pass on it. The only reason to get that machine, as opposed to vintage class 15 machines, is if there is some sentimental value to it.
You already have a 15-91. Maybe think about more of the same, e.g., 15-90, 15 Japanese clone.
When I first started “collecting”, I felt an irrational urgency to grab up anything I thought as a deal. Looking back, being patient would have saved me some time and money.
