Any ideas for materials to plug holes in trees from bolts? (E.g., foam ear plugs)

Keep in mind most of the newer ones of these that are cylindrical are actually made of corn starch and will dissolve in water...
Oopppss.... Didn't know that. The ones I seen were in the dumpster at work and the wind had blown some into the pond and they were floating so I just assume they waterproof.....

u work in that industry or just a packing popcorns aficionado? Hahaha

Reusing drilled holes isn't like tapping aluminum. I can only envision thread engagement being good the first time and less each time thereafter. My 2c is to leave them in the tree.

They'll probably dissolve after a while unless the were the styrofoam peanut shaped ones.

I worked in the warehousing/shipping business for a long time. These were developed to combat the stryofoam waste in the world. They're actually pretty cool and innovative.

I agree with u....I don't understand with all the technologies we have why more packaging products aren't biodegradable....I did read recently scientists have discovered a naturally occurring bacteria to actually feeds on plastics... :) mother nature is pretty amazing

I used bolts for a couple of years on a certain set and I found if I just put broken off twigs in about the size of the hole I could find the holes and the twig would plug the hole. It worked good and it was free.
