Hey guys I’m trying different climbing methods and think I would like the srt rope climbing method but can’t find anything in the search function. Any tips on what to buy and what works best and what doesn’t work?

I have had great luck and efficiency with the grigri belay device, a left hand ascender, and an additional small pulley to take up slack. I think i learned the technique from YouTube

Think you need more than 3 characters in search feature. If you click on advanced search, third "folder" is tags...SRT is in there and will get you info

SRT can be a little taxing in heavy clothing if you are not used to it

Left hand ascender, foot loop from webbing, petzl roll clip, and gri gri. Safest and easiest way to climb. Especially if you have pre set trees.

Check out this video on YT...
He is using an aider but any foot loop would work.

Searching via google with saddlehunter.com works very well. Tapatalk hasagood search function too, though I don’t much like it otherwise.

For SRT you can do a couple things. Cheap way is with 2 prusik loops, 2 caribiners and a length of rated tubular webbing. Place one prusik on the rope and hook that to your RCH. Place the second prusik above that and connect to a loop made out of the webbing. The webbing loop should be set up so that when you push the top prusik up as far as you can reach, and your foot is in the loop, your knee leg is about a 90 degree angle. You then step up putting all your weight in the webbing loop and at the same time push your RCH prusik up. Sit back down in to the RCH and push the leg prusik up.

Upgrades I've done on top of this:

-Petzle tibloc for my foot ascender
-Ropeman for my RCH ascender
-Piece of garden hose on my webbing loop for my foot

My next upgrade will be a Madrock Safeguard. I like the Jul from the video above but my rope is 11 mm. I currently transition to a figure 8 to rappel down but if the Safeguard works as advertised I won't need to.
