Anybody install a cam cleat on their platform? Update-Installed.

The vertical gear tie does function as a pull up handle. The (bungie) is a soft shackle type of connect that is not elastic. Its purpose is to keep the platform from opening completely. This helps climbing by keeping it at a better angle to climb up. It also saves time by not having to hinge the platform up and down as much/far.

Good. Larger platform means better hand holds for stability when climbing. Larger also means more to step over/around but more to step up on to. There are always trade offs. I believe you could use any platform you might have to did this.
 
I find i have to use a short bridge when climbing with the mission. Its big enough and I move it up enough that I need to set it to one side more than say a stick.
