Anybody using 9mm Sterling HTP for Rope Mods?

I have the beast sticks in mind, but applies to any. Anybody using 9mm HTP for their rope mods, or too thick and stiff to reliably bind up on the post? Figured I'd ask the crowd before cutting up rope.
