Anyone consider using these?

Got a few of these laying around. Looking for opinions.

Hard to see what it is in that pic, and I have no clue what the specs are. I'm assuming it's a carabiner supplement? If it's in the 4000-5000lb (18-23kn) range and you like it, go for it.

But I'd ask myself what advantage it brings over a cheap, lightweight Black Diamond Positron or similar locking carabiner.

Its the hooks from a couple of safety lanyards i had laying around. Was already paid for. Haven't seen anyone here mention or use them so wondered if there was a reason for this as they are readily easy to come by.

I think gate size is the limiting factor. I used to use them on old positioning lanyards/ linesman. Work well when attaching to metal D rings on the side of the saddle. Not sure if I'd like them on soft fabric loops on the side of my Mantis. Safety wise no problem if they are in good condition.
