Anyone else not like early season?

I love early season, it’s when I can hunt the good looking spots focusing on food. Once gun season opens I have to transition to hunting the thick stuff in most all places.

I hunt in SC and it can be above 60 any given day the entire season. It’s hot here, deer don’t give a damn about it, lol. Plus, I’m an old man. You remember going in grandma’s house when you were a kid and she’d have the heat cranking? Well we old folks like that crap

I pretty much don’t hunt with any significant effort until December in Louisiana. If I hunt October or November it’s in the Midwest. Or a random cold serious front that gets temps in 40’s, from 80’s.

Otherwise, it’s not a high leverage time to hunt.

I hunt Louisiana as well. It’s usually well into November when I start hunting hard. Need a couple of hard freezes to kill all the mosquitoes!!!!

Saturday is the opening day of ML here and the forecast is for a cool 90 degrees. Sunday is 78 and rain.
