Anyone have an Alps pack?

Want sure what section to ask this question, but I've been looking to replace my old Walmart camo backpack with a real hunting pack hear towards my new saddle addiction. Id like to keep my budget under $100. I was looking the Alps Crossfire, and it looked it'd be great for holding a platform and sticks, with plenty of outside pockets for smaller gear. Amazon has the Crossfire listed for under $100, and I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with that pack, or the quality of any of their packs.

Here's the one in looking at...

I’ve made several post regarding my Alps packs over the past few seasons. I’ve always had the pathfinder model until this year when I switched over to the hybrid x model. Love both packs and find Alps to be a good name brand at a decent price.

I hunt a lot. Probably more than most people due to time availability and having very few other interests. But I don't really demand a top of the line pack for hunting in NE Missouri. I've been using an Alps Pursuit for 3 yrs now. It is holding up really well. I have poked some holes and gouged the hem of the netting on the outside pockets, with bow hangers. No fault of the pack, there. I am happy with it for the $.

Thanks for info. I really like the looks of that pathfiner pack also. Looks like it would be nice for small game and turkey hunts as well, since it can pack down smaller. Wish there was a place I could check them all out in person.

I’ve been looking at the Matrix. I want something small and lite that I can haul a crossbow or gun with

I recommend the turkey pouches that attach to the front of the pathfinder. Keeps things handy while walking and not having to take a pack off to get to things

Man, I thought for sure I wanted the Crossfire, but that Pathfinder looks pretty nice too. For those of you that have the Pathfinder do you ever use it in the folded up position, or just keep it expanded into the full pack? If you don't use it folded up, does it lack anything a regular (non-collapsable) pack would offer?

I keep a hydration bladder in the upper part so it stays expanded.

Looking at the pathfinder, it’s almost a pound lighter than the matrix with the same capacity. I like the crossbow feature better on the matrix, but the one on the pathfinder looks ok too

I use the Pathfinder and if you open the top part of it a predator platform fits in there quite nicely. The outside holds my helium sticks snuggly.

I'm looking to ditch it this year though. Found a different way to carry my sticks and platform, and I think I can carry essentials in a lighter pack now. Not selling, just in case. :)

As I was reading you reply I thought "maybe he'll sell it to me", then I read the last sentence lol

I have the pathfinder, I used it all last season and found it really heavy. The conversion thing seemed cool but really it's just a bunch of extra weight. There was no situation where I would ever want to change it over while in the field.
Know I have a internal frame pack for more gear hunts and a fannypack for minimal gear days. I can carry a ton of weight in the frame pack since it has load lifters. 10 lbs in the pathfinder seems like a heavy load.

Haven't decided on a pack yet, but still looking at them. I came across the Alps Willow Creek, and it looks pretty nice too. Small enough to not be bulky, but big enough I can carry the essentials I may need in the woods, and my platform should fit nicely in the open space between the front back. Anyone use this pack?

I am interested in the pathfinder. How much for the one with the turkey and bino attachment?
