I am wanting to finish out the season with my light weight sticks and add an extra step to my aider. Has anyone here stitched one up? pictures?

I'll be making a 2 step moveable aider sometime soon. I think I'm going to make them offset though. If I remember I'll post pics when I'm done.

I wish I would've known about this stuff before I made my CAYG aider (put rope inside tubular webbing to keep it open). I would've sewed this on top instead (I've seen it used on several manufactured aiders for this purpose).

I was looking to make that same thing. What is the length of webbing you used for the "rails", and also what length for the "step"?

I made some 2 step aiders by splicing knock off 1/4 amsteel and some garden hose. They work okay and could be made with a better step but I just use them for presets.

Do you know of any videos that show how to make this? I have a two step aider that is offset, but like the idea of the inline steps more. If not videos, would you mind giving me a rundown on the knots and connection points?
Water knots my friend... water knots. Section you out a long piece for the bottom step. Then tie water knots on either side at about the right place for your particular gait and then come back in with another piece of webbing and retrace the water knots you've already got in place. The whole thing then gets looped onto the bottom step of your stick (or you can use another water knot to tie it to your step).

I'm sorry but I don't have a video. Come to think of it, I don't have that aider anymore either :tearsofjoy:

Perfect, makes sense. Just curiously, why did you get rid of the aider?
