I think I posted this in the other thread that was linked, but I have severe sticker shock for this setup. It appears to be straps and webbing, seen into loops. I realize that takes effort etc, but I don't see the same manufacturing costs to sew straps with an industrial sewing machine as say casting an aluminum platform etc.

I hope they are successful, I just don't understand the pricing. Maybe someone with more manufacturing experience can set me straight, but that's approaching custom saddle prices, for something that looks like it's way simpler. Do I think I could DIY as good? Definitely not as clean, but as safe probably yeah. If not, I think I could probably pay someone like CGM or beaston or one of the other sewers on here far less for a better product. Note: they currently don't offer products like this and I'm not volunteering them/didn't ask permission before name dropping. Perhaps one of them will prove me wrong and educate me out of my potential ignorance.

I had sticker shock as well. I think you're seeing that price for 2 reasons. First the cost of having things sewn properly, especially when they don't have a contract to make thousands of them. Second, the cost of insurance for some of these smaller start ups is probably pretty prohibitive and they have to find a way to overcome it.
 
These are interesting, very similar to the arc tree ladder system that was around a while back. A couple thoughts

-These are an accident waiting to happen for people who are new to this. Talk about an easy way for a foot to get stuck and flip upside down.
-Boot selection will be key, stiff enough to relax foot, but narrow enough to get in easily.
-IMO there should be a bottom strap as well to keep them from blowing or twisting when climbing or descending--it would just make it easier in general
-wet and cold weather....these things are going to freeze solit after a couple hours or wet and cold weather. packing them up will suck

Honestly, its really a neat concept, but is it that much better or lighter than some strap on steps????

I didn't think about the insurance/business start up costs, you're right. Hm.

If you're comfortable climbing on etriers like the ones Black Diamond offers, one of these systems could be fabbed up fairly easily and you'd still be using "climbing rated" equipment just not necessarily as it's intended purpose and it would be cheaper.
 
I’m with the sticker shock crew on this one. Was fed an ad for them on YouTube and found them that way. Doesn’t seem like it would take too much to make on your own dime though.
 
Yes I would like to know about the system also. There’s no reviews, no video’s except one from the company.
 
So my recap on this since season is over is that I don't like "one sticking" with the system. So if you buy buy the whole system, prolly 3 of them if you wanna get over 12'.

I like the foot loops and it works well with boots but I only wear a size 9 so you clown foot hobos might have issues. It's more comfortable than climbing with an aider since your foot sides into the tree instead of digging your toe in.

I started carrying the stirrups and hunted out of them exclusively the back half of the season. At that point I'm doing a lot of run and gun with a rifle and want a light setup and I paired that with a minimalist one stick for a very light setup. Works well as a sitter and you have a large radius around the tree, but not true 360. You can shoot 360 but it takes core strength and you can't walk around the tree like a platform with steps. This makes form a big issue, I wouldn't want to have to take a fast weak side over the bridge shot, I'm setting up for slam dunk strong side shots anyway but something to consider. A lot of this is mitigated by a rifle, which I just shoot left handed so everything is strong side.

Overall I'm planning on purchasing the rest of the system and will likely use the stirrups all next year.

I see CGM is also selling a stirrup now and that may be a better option for a lot of folks along with a 2TC.

Yeah it's definitely interesting I would like to see some reviews. It would be nice not to carry sticks!
 
I emailed them and they said the cam buckles can be changed out the way they have them made. They said people have been asking about that. And they also said you can get 20ft with the kit.

Did they mention how or what you would switch them out for? I have the system and didn’t like feeding the strap through the cam. So my plan was to use a biner on the other side for quick attachment and always keep the strap fed through the cam buckle.

They sent me a video they are saying the straps have two loops you could cut the buckle off and remove the strap and replace with what ever you want to use.

How do you like it? I was gonna post the video they sent but it's not working for some reason but he said just cut the buckle off not the loops and use the loops to attach whatever you want.
