Well I got a new angle into the subject recently. Went from Method 2 to Lonestar, used to feel I might slip through the Method any moment while hanging, Lonestar somehow hugs my rear in a way I feel very secure without leg straps.
I will eventually sew them on. I hybrid hunt and don’t want the metal anywhere near seat edge on a stand + the hooks on Latitude straps are still same self-disassembling garbage.
In the end, leg straps on saddle are not there for the excepted situation, but in case you slip, stick breaks etc and you fall into the saddle in unplanned position with no time to brace for impact. ”I feel secure hanging without” is meaningless argument. The straps are more like seatbelt function, you don’t need them until you really need them.
