Are you buying the regular drey or the drey LL?

Not for me. I mostly climb limbless trees. On occasion I have to go around 2-3 limbs, so for me, hooking the linesman in the center ring is no big deal. In the event of a fall I believe you would slide less down the tree too.

I have the LL. I use the LL for climbing and the d ring for passing. It’s an interesting feeling being attached to just the d ring but I actually find that I like it more than the linesman loops. But I think it’s good to have both. Make sure your tether and linesman ropes have knotted loop end in them when using the d ring rather than sewn eyes. The knots keep the rope from continuously sliding through.

Neither, just hammock only & attach it to your current setup & climb like normal.

Not trying to come off rude. I don’t really understand this, I hunt out of a drey and have the LL belt option. It’s an awesome system to walk into the woods… when I hunt off bolts I climb using the belt and then deploy the hammock at height… if I one stick I deploy at bottom of tree and one stick up in the hammock…

I understand that the hammock is more comfortable than a traditional saddle I just don’t understand why people want to pair it with another saddle.

I don't have any of the belts for the Drey. I ended up just pairing it with an ultra light actual rated climbing harness. The harness plus the drey weigh in at like 3/4 of a pound. I just hook a carabiner in through the main loops of the harness and then use that to get around branches. I am always hooked into both the Drey and the harness at all times.

I guess it’s cheaper to try it this way if you already have a saddle. But I totally agree just get the whole thing. And be happy.

I like the idea of this saddle, I remember seeing it but I didn't give it much thought.

Can you wear this without the leg loops? I dont wear leg loops on my ESS or the Phantom before that. I feel perfectly safe.

Yes. They are removable. I often don’t wear them.

I have the original tactisaddle it is the most uncomfortable saddle but adding the drey made it my go to setup

Thanks Guys, They don't look like they are on the classifieds much...Looks like I will be spending three bills. I'm into solid colors but I think I would have to go with the lighter color MultiCam.

Off the top of my head, it's between $100-150 cheaper to just add the hammock.

There's something to be said about the minimalism of the Dryad belts, especially for transport, as well as for simplicity when elevated.

However, pairing with a saddle gives more comfort options. Adjust saddle as well as adjust hammock. With the Dryad belts, the comfort really relies mostly on the hammock.

The wrong saddle could create more hotspots, but the right compliment could be muy bueno.

But I've no experience either way, so that's just my speculation.

I've read reviews where others who tried both found the one without LL to have fewer hotspots. For what it's worth. Maybe those reviews could be dredged up with some searching about.

Unless I was clearing a lot of branches frequently, or really reliant on LL for climbing, like on sticks with short standoffs or something, I would go no LL, personally.

I’m sold I am getting one. Watched every youtube I could. Looks perfect for my style of hunting. I’m going with the LL with some loop t loops and the fleece cover.

Sat in it today for only 10 mins at the base of a tree. Feels sweet. The real test will be a multi hour sit. I really liked the full body overhead sleep mode.
