Asio versus Sitka

Got my heavy weight ASIO stuff. Holy moly this stuff is the warmest stuff I ever tried on. It’s heavy but incredibly warm. I would say atleast as warm as the first lite thermic and warmer than anything Sitka offers. Primaloft gold. I was surprisingly impressed.
They must have changed something since the last Asio you tried.

How much heavier would you say? Looks like I will get to try out my fanatic this weekend.

I was looking at weight the other day. I think the heavy weight jacket was a pound heavier than the fanatic according to website specs. Didn’t check the bibs.

Looks good. I'm gonna purchase this over the fanatic. Question on sizing. 5'8" 165 medium or large if I need to layer with the sitka stratus I already have?

The late season Asio vest over the Sherpa coat works well for me starting around the low 30s. Opening day rifle starts this Saturday with lows around 19 and high around 26. I’ll rock that Asio vest under the fanatic.

The only think I am not liking is the bagginess in the arms. Other than that it seems decent

Well, I spent most of the day in a tree with my fanatic. High 20's with 15-20mph wind gusts and blowing snow. For the morning all I had on under was 200gr merino wool base layer. My body temp stayed warm. I had to add the neck gator to keep the back of my neck warm. I hung out for 5 hours. Over all not bad. The wind wasn't super cold in the morning. So that helped. But after some lunch I went back at it, but I did add another light jacket under. The wind temp definitely felt like it was cooler. So the jacket was a plus. I grabbed my other boots. Even with the wind cooler I was comfy. I got what I was hoping for. Definitely cut the wind better than my old stuff. I'm pleased with the results.
