I didn't do any hunting in the first several weeks of the season cause it was just too darn hot. Finally the weather cooled down to the point where I was going to go out for the first time. I loaded up my saddle gear in the Jeep and thought I had better take a few practice shots. (Guilty as charged. I don't shoot as often as I should, but that's gonna change!) I went to pull my bow back and the string wouldn't budge more than an inch! WTH! Looked at my bow to see if something was horribly wrong. Nope. It's me! Yeah, I'm 60 but I never struggled at all before. I researched to see how much I could safely back out the limb bolts and backed them out all I could. Could just barely get it back. Did some exercises every day and can finally shoot. So, don't make the same mistake as I did, especially if you are old like me! I can't wait to get out there!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I've always tried to live by that sentiment. All through my 50s, I felt like 40. But now at 60, some days, I feel like 80! I tried to get into a new tree yesterday, which needed a little branch trimming. I was almost as high as I wanted to get but I was exhausted. Then I dropped my saw. By the time I got down I felt so tired and defeated, that I packed up and went home! I hope that turns out to be an isolated incident! I don't like feeling that way. I've never been a quitter but yesterday that's exactly what I was.
