Anyone ever messed with both of these?

I want to start packing out deer and this will be a major part of that. I have been using a 1700 cubic inch pack this year and it had plenty of space but really lacked the a frame and structure I would like in a pack. It didn't give me an option to pack out anything. I like the Mule as it's obviously cheaper, but also a decent amount smaller(23L) than the pop up 28.

I would love some experienced feedback. Pictures, etc. Thanks.

Mule not cheaper than popup if you’re hunting used - they’ll be about the same. You might find them around same price overstock at some resellers.

the advantage of the mule is that it’s on the guide light frame which allows you to swap to other bags that fit that frame. Cons compared to popup is weight and the fact you can’t fold down the loadlofters for daypack mode.

If you’re packing 100lbs, or packing 50-75 every day, you’d see an advantage of the guise light over the popup. If you’re packing a boned or quartered deer here and there, popup works great. The mule will too, just at the weight and bulk expense.

Can you get on expertvoice or guidefitter as a teacher? Better price for mystery ranch with them. For 2020, the mule bag will fit on the pop up 28 and 38 frame. (The trekking pole type) I just received the pop up 38 last week. After a couple of treadmill hikes with 35lb weight on the overload shelf, I need more practice with it to see if it's the one for me. The compression top is really loud. It has lots of adjustments though.
