What pack does everyone use for carrying in platform and sticks? I just got the new hawk 20” helium sticks, and the predator platform. I have a mystery ranch pop up 18 I’ll probably use, but think it might be a little cumbersome to hang in the tree with me.

I use this mossy oak pack. Can’t remember the name of it. Nothing fancy or special but seems to do just fine for me. I like it a lot and love the look of it. (Yes, the looks of gear is important to me along with how functional it is. I don’t know why, it’s just a thing.) Don’t think I’d want to go much bigger for saddle hunting.

There's a dedicated thread to this on here somewhere. Its like 20 pgs long. alllllll about backpacks haha. Indulge! I use a cheap 20 dollar cabelas pack. It holds my hunting stuff inside. I bought a alps pack that I like too. Its called a big bear or something. Its a convertible. Goes from fanny pack to full pack. I think it was about 70 bucks or less on lancasterarchery.com I can pack my sticks sideways on top and then pull out the upper pack to stuff cold weather gear or a rain jacket. I hate hunting in the rain though. Miserable...and I feel like the deer never move when they should be.

Why are the mystery ranch bags so desirable. They look nice but I havent been able to talk myself into spending the dough. Its like women spending hundreds on a pocket book just to hold the money they already spent.

I bought mine in preparation for a Wyoming antelope hunt, thought the load shelf would be nice for packing platform and sticks.

True. Ive seen some good deals on em sometimes. Im sure they're worth it. I get packs so nasty I'd ruin it in a couple seasons putting dead fish in em and leave it in the trunk or something dumb

you will have enough room for the 18 in a tree I would think. They aren't super big. Just don't put more stuff than you need. That seems to be a problem with the bigger packs for me. I used to use just a fanny pack n my pockets for yrs. Worked fine

I have a popup 28, I bought cheap used old fleece pack that goes on the load shelf with my sticks and stuff, I plan on leaving the popup on the ground and taking the smaller fleece pack up in the tree with my essentials in it.

That’s a good idea, hadn’t thought of that

You have an awesome pack use it! Watch ebay, I have bought 2 camo fleece packs in the past couple weeks for like $25, I bet one of Danos fleece pouches he sells mite even work, that way when I am rummaging around for snacks or whatever I’m not making any noise, and still have a pack that can handle a load for the walk in and out.

If i leave a pack on the ground I always try n bury it for scent reasons. Seems to work pretty good. Not like dig a grave kinda thing but maybe scrape a little ditch and cover with dirt and leaves/sticks.
