Backpack Repair

Pack strap is tearing pretty good on a used 5.11 pack I picked up. Is this something a speedy stitcher could take care of or am I better off taking it to a professional seamstress?

If selling a pro, would any sewing place do or is there something specific to look for in repairing durable material like cordura?

I take anything that needs heavy sewing to the local shoe repair shop. They have heavy sew machines and heavy thread to repair shoes, luggage and heavy canvas items. Coincidentally they have reattached a backpack shoulder strap for me before. The shop here in Baton Rouge built me a custom leather knife sheath and sewed a fixed webbing bridge on a Kite.
