I was thinking it would be interesting to do some ballistic gel testing with a few different arrow set-ups. Anyone tried this?

I have been reading the interwebs searching for home made ballistic gel, and there are quite a few links, so I am thinking about just making a couple 5 gallon buckets of it and trying to different arrow configurations, mainly a fixed, mechanical, and some Magnus Bullhead turkey broadheads. Maybe some different weight arrows as well.

Most of the recipes for ballistic gel are all the brownish color, trying to find a recipe for clear gel. Its expensive to buy pre-made, but I am certain there must be a recipe for clear out there somewhere.

Potting compound. I think its very expensive though. We use it at work in electrical junction boxes that are submerged. It's a 2 part liquid and turn into gel.
Im sure there are better options....
