Bear Den?

Was scouting a piece of private today and ran across this. Do you guys think it is a black bear den? I have a picture of a black bear on this property from last year...so I'm thinking it is back.

I bet that hole is about 2 1/2 feet across. I'm pretty far away in this photo

It looks like an Indian mound to me. I bet someone has dug into it.

I did not. The opening is certainly new. I'm going to put a camera on it and see what comes up.

It's definitely a cool find. I'm curious to see what you find out.

Could be. I know of one that looks just like that in northern WI. During rifle season on real cold days I can see steam coming out from the body heat in the den. Pretty cool.
