Beast gear site. Tip vs No Tip!

So I'm just now getting around to buying a 4 pack of mini beast sticks and 1 attaching rod. I have been using the 24" beast sticks for several years and truly love them. However here in the Northeast part of NJ the briar bush and other vegetation can sometimes get wildly out of control. Trying to reduce my overall foot print while walking through the bush, I have decided to get four mini sticks.

During the check out on the Beast site, I see a section to add on a tip. My order was $384.91 before taxes & shipping ($33.65) and Four boxes popped up with a suggested tip percentage amount (5% $19.25), (10% $38.49), ($15% $57.74) and (None).

I would consider myself an avid online shopper, and this is the first time seeing any such option. Has anyone else seen such a trend? I would hope Dan and Mario pay there employees well enough to forgo this. Inflation has hit us all equally and buying high end hunting gear is an expendable item. Imposing a online tip for placing an order just seems counterintuitive. I paid the $33.65 for shipping, which I assume covers, shipping cost, packing material, tape and labor to pull and stuff the box. What would the tip be for? Packing the box nicer? No trapped air bubbles in the shipping tape? I'm not trying to be insensitive, I'm just not getting the service tip line.

Be safe and stay well.

I purchased something on line a while ago and it was an option. Don't remember where. I'm not cheap. I know inflation is hitting everyone. But it hits me to. Unless it's just becoming a standard check out option...

That is a new one on me. I've never seen it as an option when checking out. Hopefully it doesn't become normal. I would guess it is in the food deliver business. I tip well at restaurants when the service is good. I've never liked the automatic gratuity added on to a bill.

I ordered a pizza from Papa John’s the other night for some people that were over. There was an option to add a tip for the delivery driver…..

Soooo, what you’re saying is that you are one of those “non-tippers”?!?!? :smirk:

If you are getting food delivered and not tipping I would caution against eating it. :tonguewink:

Agree. What I don't like is when I do carryout and I get the tip % on the receipt and they ask me to sign it and I always put 0, then I feel awkward.

My 2 cents. If Dan Infalt wants to reward his crew for a job well done then he can give them all a Christmas bonus. He has a heck of a lot more money than me.

Here i can see maybe adding a couple dollars for the additional service. Presuming they added Utensils, plates, napkins.

I have no problem tipping for a service (I.e. good service at a restaurant - usually 20-30%). I do a small tip when I do takeout even. But it is strange asking for a tip on a packaged product like what you would order from Beast Gear. Their costs and profit margin are baked into the price of the product. There isn’t a value added service at play there. Just odd.
