Beast Sticks

Dewey is Mod over on the beast. Banned me over there…

I don’t have a bone to pick with anyone. I have had many beast sticks since the first batch. I have bent a bunch of them from tubes, steps to many standoffs. I have also had 2 beast stands. One the platform bent and the other the seat leveling bracket bent. I have my experiences with Dan and Mario some good some very bad. I feel there are safety issues with the stand but I have kept that to myself.
Yes. I’m a Moderator over on the Beast. Not sure what that has to do with anything. That’s nothing new here and I’m sure anybody who frequents both sites already knows that.

Sounds like your implying I’m biased due to this fact. I clearly pointed out that it’s good this was posted to make everyone aware. Not sure how you can take that in a negative way and turn it against me. You obviously have a bone to pick. I suggest you channel that energy where it matters. I’m in no way affiliated with Beast Gear. I’m just a customer like everyone else.

Alright back on topic.

Just further emphasizes that no matter what, never ever disconnect from the tree from the time your foot leaves the ground, till it comes back down. My lineman's belt has done it's job and saved my keister more than once

Very concerning no matter the manufacturer glad the hunter survived with minor but painful injuries.

The way the break looks it is definitely a material defect and it is one of the china extruded steps. It shouldn't just snap like that being machined extrusion. They should bend. That type of failure can happen to any manufacturer. There are plenty of examples of broken stuff in this forum over the last couple years from about every company in the game. If you don't feel comfortable using them don't. I have no problem using mine. That is why we stay tied in all the time. There are plenty of things that can fail in all of our setups at anytime without warning.

It is impossible for all manufacturers of gear like this to catch every material defect. If they did that type of testing gear would cost way more. Everything is a gamble once you leave the ground.

Not saying you haven't had issues. You got banned, and managed to break everything you've bought from them.

I'm saying you've made it clear you've got a bone to pick. Right, wrong, or indifferent.

Sorry, you all have to let it go. There is plenty of evidence that @enkriss calls it like he sees it, no matter the brand.

Plenty of times he's promoted Beast stuff. (eg, see below)

Just says what he likes, doesn't, and shares his experience without brand filtering.

While OP didn't get bombarded, there are certainly comments questioning OPs motives. I'm also in the @enkriss camp of, first and foremost, the step broke, what more is there to it at this point.

First and foremost, get the word out, and then investigate. Reputations are less important than personal safety, and the two could just go hand in hand.

I'd like to see manufacturers put a warning out in these situations, simply stating we've a report of a broken x,y,z....we are investigating the cause, specifically to identify any potential manufacturing defect or improper loading, so we can have that information to provide for the safety of all users of the product. In the meantime, please follow safe practices while climbing, with a harness connection to the tree at all times.

That'd demonstrate responsibility, imo.

Ok so I think we got the word out, OP had a failure & it’s documented. Manufacturer is resolving to customer satisfaction. We have as many details as we’re going to get as to the origin of the sticks & what could have led to their failure. All the rest of this is not a positive contribution to what should be viewed as a PSA for safety. Another friendly reminder to stay clipped in & inspect your gear. Locking this one down……
