I got Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine for Christmas and I am looking for good beginner project. Is there anything you all would suggest?

What type of saddle do you hunt with? For my fleece saddle, I want to sew the ends together as to not single them out when stretching around my rch. I also want to maybe put two tabs on either side to make it easier to stretch open and the same every time. I was planning on buying the singer HD today actually. Let me know how you like it.

Also, mending some rips or tears in your clothes might be a good start if you have never used a sewing machine. Although not glamorous like a “saddle project” it will help you get a feel for the machine and its capabilities.

I think this is the only sight that a man can say he got a sewing machine for Christmas or birthday and everyone give him ideas on what to do with it first and projects and it is ok lol I went to my moms the other day and sat down asked her to show me how to use hers the look on her face was priceless to say the least I’m waiting on my saddle I bought two pouches from the military surplus store to put on for my ropes that will be my first saddle related stiching!

Gear hanger strap. It goes around the tree with a series of loops made from two old ratchet straps, @g2outdoors has a video on it. I made one with using a Speedy Stitcher and it works great. I'm sure it would take you no time to make one with a thread injector, (sewing machine).

So true! You should have seen the looks on my in-laws faces when I told them I was going to turn part of my office into a sewing space.

At 75 cents a foot you’re better off just buying the woven daisy chain strap from Dutch.
