Like the title states I am looking for the best card reader for my iPhone XR. I have has at least 3 that all either sucked or crapped out on me. I feel like this day in age there should be a decent one out there.

Can you guys steer me in the right direction?

I picked this up a few years back. This, for me, is the best option I've come across.

Use the Apple one. I’ve been through several offbrand ones and they all fail. You don’t need an app for it, it downloads into your photos. You can only view the thumbnail before you download it which kinda sucks. I just delete them after I download them.

Seems like a pain to download 1000 squirrels pics just to delete them

The one I suggested uses the Wildgame app
It has never once failed
And I don’t baby them either

I’ve been using this cheap one from Amazon. I have an iPhone XR. No problems and it’s easy, no app needed. Just plug it into the phone, open the photo app and import will show up at the bottom. You can browse without importing and delete as you want. Cheap and easy and works with my iPad also

How long does it take to download 200-400 photos do you think? Roughly?

Seconds.... You literally plug the device into your phone, it'll open up your photos, your new images are all there ready for download, you can select as few or as many as you want, then download them! Next, it'll ask you if you want to keep or discard the photos on the card. For example, when I'm in the field I'll discard them to start fresh on that card so the next time I go in, it'll be filled with new images.
