Best double step stick?

How much extra height do you get per stick from a five step aider? I really debating between the muddy's and the Hawks.
I think it really depends on how high you can reach and set the stick. But I would guess I get around 7 feet maybe a touch more per stick.
I like the muddy stick because the rope cleat is easy to attach above your head.

I measured everything out. With a 3 step aider, I can get 7 foot out of each stick. I'm 5'7" and the 3-step aider is as high as I can go. A fourth "rung" would only hang on the ground.
Keep in mind I'm using LW sticks. If you used a shorter stick, then a 4 or 5 step aider would probably work. Also, if you aren't hobbit-sized, a bigger aider would probably work. I would think someone 5'10" or so could make use of a longer aider as well, even on a long stick like the Lone Wolfs.

Just got some muddy pro's and I like them a lot. Only bolts that needed tightened were because the brackets were not attached so they could be packaged better for shipping. No worries, pretty simple to throw together. I've had lone wolfs for a long time, but wanted to try a double step and something shorter for carrying. I wanted the muddy rope system and am pleased with it, but I wish the rope was longer. I like the muddy's more than my lw's for sure. Don't have any heliums to compare to.
Yes, I've had the aider swing out to the side of the tree a couple of times at height. A bit scary, for sure, but manageable. Always follow the 3 points of contact rule so you have both hands on the tree or a stick when stepping down and you can recover. I would practice that kind of kick out close to the ground so you know what to expect.
Keep in mind, the longer the aider the more unstable it will be. 1 step aiders or loops are way easier to use than 2, 3 or 4 step aiders. That's why a lot of us use a 2 or 3 step on the bottom stick and then shorter aiders on the higher sticks.

Thanks for the information. I was going to run a 18" aider on the bottom of each step. Only 1 aider per stick. Thought about using 8mm rope and putting either hose or pvc to flatten the step on the bottom. If I use pvc I would step in grip tape
I run a single aider on my sticks. If you go with a double step stick you can just use webbing. Put a loop on each side and girth hitch it to each side of the step so it doesn't slide off. I don't need to put anything else on it to flatten out the webbing.
