Best Sewing Thread for DIY projects

For me it varies. For weight bearing stitches, I use polyester thread from the thread exchange in a few sizes. Up to size 207. For that I use a bigger machine.

For less critical stitches, I use coats brand outdoor living thread. It can be used in almost any machine.

Coats outdoor.

Readily available, inexpensive. I also have some outdoor thread as well as leather/upholstery thread. They are a pain b/c they eat up the bobbin so fast. and I'm not sure they are really any better.

I like to use the sewing awl with their heavy duty waxed thread for any heavy duty projects.

Those work great. They are slow, but you can sew through almost anything
