I know you guys that are "Genetically Superior" like myself are always asking about saddle and platform sizes, so while out back today I took some pics, hope the visual helps. This will be my first season in a saddle, in boots I wear from a 13 -14, depending on brand. In these photos I'm wearing size 14 Lowas, which looks smaller than my 13 mucks.

So here are a few pics of different foot positions on the OOAL Ridge Runner. Some are with heel on platform and some with the heel off.20200722_124332.jpg20200722_124406.jpg

In the top pic I am turned around with back to tree, this tree is a leaner so majority of weight is on my heels, alot of boot hanging off but very comfortable. I chose the RR after alot of research, at least in practicing out back, I'm happy with it.

These pics really helped me. Do you ever have any trouble getting the ridgerunner to cam over and lock in? That’s honestly the only thing I see the predator having an advantage over it.

I find it very easy to cam and lock over...seems like the camming action works better if you push down instead of pull it up

When I first used the RR I had the strap to high around the back of the tree, this caused the platform to keep rising up on the front. I put the strap slightly lower than the attachment points, tilt platform up, tighten strap, cam down, uncam, tighten strap again and then cam down again. Once the second cam is done.....she'll be tight, your body weight will finish seating the platform rock solid.

The RR is awesome. Stupidly I sold mine to try something else and immediately regretted it. Needless to say I have another one on order. Should get here in a week or two I hope.

What Lowas are those? I wear tibets, have 2 matching pair in case one gets wet, my ankle was destroyed in an accident and there the only boots I can wear anymore, I would like to find a lighter model lowa in all leather like those your wearing and that comes in wide, thanks!

Lowa Renegades, probably the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. I know there are better ones but these work for me. If I had the money then I believe a backpacking boot with a stiffer sole might be the ticket for us big guys, instead of a hiking boot like the Renegade. I wear Snake Guardz with mine from Turkey season - Archery season, they protect the boot and my lower legs from briers, mud, wet grass and such. When it turns cool enough I wear Mucks.

It only took me 2 attempts to get the ridge runner to cam. Now it's super easy.
I watched several videos and the strap height is very important. For me, the strap height was aligned with the versa buttons. Good luck.
