Howdy all.
Here’s a review of the Big Whitetail Dreams Bow Hanger and Gear Hooks available through Amazon and BigWhitetailDreams.com.
The bow hanger is between 6 and 7 inches long, has four points to grip the tree, is legal in all 50 states, and should not interfere with tether or bridge (although this coming weekend will be my first hunt with the setup.) During my test at ground height, my bow was very secure, even though I am only using a cam buckle strap (not ratchet) strap. It can be a little bulky if you have a bow hanger, multiple gear hooks, and a ratchet strap, but the advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages in my eyes (quick attachment to the tree, no screw-ins, and in the case of cam buckle straps, completely silent.)
The construction is powder-coated heat treated metal with an anti-slip rubberized finish and is backed by a lifetime warranty. In the photo, I mounted a plastic hook next to the BWD gear hook for contrast, which has about a 1.5in inside spread.
If you order through the manufacturer’s website (above), you can completely customize your setup (no strap, bow hanger plus 2 gear hooks, etc.) I went with the bow hanger plus two gear hooks (no strap since I had plenty of my own) and it cost me $16 plus $7 flat rate shipping. Definitely beats ordering through Amazon and having to pay $19 for the bow hanger plus ratchet strap and $19 for 4 gear hooks plus strap, plus shipping.
I have no financial interest in the company and simply told the company owner Wayne I would post a review on SH because of the excellent customer service (he emailed me within 5 hours of my online custom order request) and because he was willing to customize orders. Also, it was clear this is more of a small business and I wanted to help a guy out if I could.
Take a look at the manufacturers website and nothing but positive reviews on Amazon. I would highly recommend trying it out!
