Started saddle hunting this fall. I absolutely love it and it my absolute preferred method now. I spend approximately 95% of my hunting on public land and its all mobile run and gun. I currently am using an FHF bino harness with Vortex Viper 10X50's. I am having an issue with the noise the binos when they contact the interior of the harness. They have started squeaking when I move then slowly and it has become more noticeable with the colder weather. Also, I am having issues with the harness getting caught on my bridge in the saddle. I am using a Tethrd Mantis and predator platform. Love the system and will not switch saddle or system. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I made one similar to this. Works great. I skipped the mini carabiners and attached the shock cord directly to my binoculars attachment point (Swarovski 8x30 SLC).

Check out rick young bino harness. Looks similar to the DIY one above, but for the price it's hard to beat. I've been running one for a year now and I love it.

Another vote for a strap. I don’t understand why someone would want to hunt with a big harness on their chest. Not for me.

I don’t bother. I don’t hunt anywhere near far enough of a distance to need them.

Spike horns are illlegal here so we have to be darn sure we can count every pt on a rack....so bow and ML I carry them. Not during rifle.

I use bino’s about twice a year for whitetails. But I made one of these. It’s awesome.

Muley freak makes a bino harness that I believe is fairly popular. I believe boudreaux Boswell did a review on the bino harness on youtube. I don't need binos for my neck of the woods because they're usually in bow range before you ever lay eyes on them unless you're hunting a clear cut or highline.

I love this one, of course I modded it up with camo tape and stuff. I also did a mod to each of my backpacks similar to above. I found a link somewhere here to another site...I forget right now.

I carry my range finder which is a 4x so it doubles as a “is that a doe or a spike horn?” device.

I like the original Kuiu bino harness, not the Pro Harness. It sits really close and tight to the chest. But the great part is it also comes with an elastic strap that takes the place of the actual enclosed portion. Turns a great western hunting bino harness into a simple treestand bino harness that still fits their rangefinder pouch.

Looks like you need new binos, not a new harness. On a serious note though, I really like the crooked horn outfitters harness.31rz0iwiBOL._AC_SY400_ML2_.jpg

To each his own. I used a strap for a couple of years. The problem was that the binos were sitting too low on my gut instead of on my chest. They also flop around while climbing or hiking hard. With a chest rig, they pretty much stay put and no banging around. There are drawbacks (opening the flap to get them out and put them in), but I won't go back to a strap.

I use the Alps Outdoorz RMEF version. Overall, I like it, and it is very affordable. I just wish it had a pocket on the back side to stick my phone in.
