Bizarre doe attack

Not long ago someone posted a video I believe was on here from a trail cam. A fawn runs by with a coyote in pursuit and the doe is going after the yote.

I saw that years ago. I don't think it stomped the dog to death because in the original the dog gets up and looks punch drunk.

I do like how the doe trotted up kinda funny/stiff legged at the beginning, like she was about to go gangsta.

Deer have killed dogs in those encounters Usually because of internal injuries. The dogs roll over but the deer don't know the meaning of that and stomp the dog in the soft parts now.
Good thing the deers feet are not terribly sharp...My dog has a good gash on her rump from the doe kicking at her...but better the ham than the stomach.

Hunting would be more interesting if deer always behaved this way. Would definitely make it more challenging and more of an accomplishment to get to your tree stands. And probably eliminate ground hunting!!!

If the hunting season was in late spring / early summer you might actually see a lot more humans being attacked by does.

Get some Rottweilers or Cane Corsos next time you go out! Probably won't have any problems. LOL. You are probably right, she must have had her fawns hiding nearby. Glad your dogs are OK.

I had a doe roll and hat dance my dog on our back 40. Doe came over a deadfall where she and her fawn were hiding. Dog never stood a chance. Fortunately, she did not do any serious damage to my lab. After the dog took off, yipping and tail between her legs, she turned to me ..... ears back and every hair on her back was straight up ..... very intimidating. Turned my back on her, walked away and never looked back. Clearing the first few yards my heart was going pretty good but she did not come after me. Dog ran all the way to the house, in through the dog door and was curled up in her crate. A little bruised in both body and spirit. She was a young dog and it took some time to rebuild her confidence. Turned into an excellent duck dog and I hunted her a little on grouse. Even in her final years when we jumped a deer working birds she would stay close for a bit after that. The physical damage healed quickly but those mental scars stayed with her til the end.
I use my Lab for blood trailing... I bet that would put an end to that..
