For some reason I have a thing for back packs and have to many to use. I now have a black Dragos Gear Tracker and it seems to be a good size for me when mobile hunting or going to a specific area to hang and bang. Once in the tree it will come off and hang where I need it. What is the general opinion of black in terms of it being easily spotted by a white tail? I would "hate" to go buy another bag given how well this one seems to work for me.

Thanks,
Nick

I got a different backpack because all I had was a black one and it stood out.... but black bears do pretty good?

There are few truly BLACK things in the woods. The eye is automatically drawn to black. However, if your pack is on the back side of the tree, out of the line of sight of the deer and there is no noticeable movement, chances are the deer will never see it. So really, the only time a black pack creates a vulnerability is while you are walking, hunting in line of the deer's sight or if you are carrying a pressure cooker.;)

So after an evening run to see what kind of activity I have in one of my areas i have come to the realization that this pack is NOISY. So in addition to it being black it makes far too much noise when something rubs against it, pulling out the steps, the zippers etc. Any recommendations on a quieter pack that has similar volume? 1860 cu. in. is what is called out by the manufacturer.

Thanks

Nick
