Any of you fellas use a Black Gold sight with the PhotoChromatic shell? I’m looking for something with a brighter pin in lowlight conditions. I’ve been shooting a Trophy Ridge Pursuit single pin for a few yrs now, and I don’t think it’s as bright as a sight could be. I dont like using a sight light on it, because it’s hard to see the target in very low light conditions. I’ve read that the Black Gold sight is best for low light, but I’m not sure if that’s advertising, or not. Feel free to offer up any other suggestions also. What ever I get will be a single pin.

I have two black gold sights, one on my main bow and one on my backup bow. My main bow has a black gold revenge fixed pin. This one was pricey but a has more bells and whistles like micro adjust pins. You can really fine tune your sights. Those pins stay bright past legal shooting light and I’ve been really happy with it. The other sight I have is the Flashpoint Rush. This is a much cheaper sight with no frills. Those pins also stay very bright but not as bright as the pricier one. The sight adjustment is also just a standard adjustment and can take a bit more time to get dialed in. Both are nice sights and I’m a fan of the brand.

BG pins are very bright and clear in most conditions.

I too have the Black Gold Revenge with .019 fixed pins and it is a Great sight! Very bright/clear pins in all lighting conditions. Well worth the investment.

Thanks folks! That’s what I needed to know. With all the money I spend chasing deer, what’s a few hundred more?

I tried one years ago. I broke that shell a couple times the 1st 2 years. I went to a Spott Hogg and haven't looked back. It's built like a tank.

I'm not a fan of Black Gold sights. The pins are excellent. The rest of the sight is disappointing. The sight tapes are really hard to read and the delrin rail is inconsistent and paired with the small dial knob it can be really hard to adjust smoothly.

Spot Hogg and HHA make a better product. Any Spot Hogg with 019 pins will be plenty bright, especially the Triple Stack. My favorite sight I've tried is the Tommy Hogg. Solid mount, three different mount positions, micro-adjust elevation and windage, sight dial for additional arrow setups if you want to use different arrows for target/3D, and holds the weight closer to the riser than the Fast Eddie.

My experience a lot like JFISH above. I have two BG sights, both of them are the Rush model, one with .010 and one with .019 pins. They are super bright, such that I never, ever wish for a sight light. I hunt inside forest canopy in low country of SC where it gets dark early, and so sight visibility is important to me. I am thinking about getting another Rush with the smaller pins because on the BG even these tiny .010 pins are so bright that I dont need a light.

Aside from that, I have been very pleased with BG from a ruggedness/dependability standpoint. I was a committed Spot Hogg fan, and still am, but have concluded that I can have a similarly sturdy sight that is lighter in weight and will mount on the dovetail on front. So far Spot Hogg doesn't offer dovetail mount except on their higher end, long range models.

I have to Mt. Lite 3pin and they are easily brightest pins made. Sights have held up great. I dont think you will regret a good Black Gold sight.

I own several model Spot Hoggs, Trophy Ridge React One and a few Black Golds. The Spot Hoggs seem to hold their settings more after being banged around, but I prefer the simplicity of the Black Gold AND how bright their pins are. The Ascent series is also as light as they come.

I hunt similar areas a lot, that’s nice to know. I think I’d like a .10 myself. I need to shoot a bow with .10 sights so I can see if I like them.
