Blackhorn 209

I bought 5lbs of Black Mag 3 about 10 or so years ago. They went out of business when they had an explosion in their factory...or so that's what I heard. I think it is the best substitute black powder that I've shot. I can shoot 7-9 times before I have to run a patch though.

You sure about that? I see nothing in the regs and page 87 deals with CWD sampling and public land hunts (no mention of nontoxic ammo).

Edit: Even on their ammo page, it only references nontoxic for waterfowl. It's recommended but not required. https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/hunting/ammo/index.html
Sorry, wrong page. On page 89 *NEW-Non-toxic ammunition requirements. Bullets, slugs, muzzleloader ammunition and projectiles must be made entirely of non-toxic material approved by the US Fish and Wildlife Service

Gotcha but still no seeing it. Page 89 addresses applying for special firearms and archery hunts:
I see the difference now, your regs were updated 10/27/22. Mine is a earlier version, on your version page 8 it states the requirement was delayed a year due to the lack of available ammunition. I downloaded mine when I renewed my lifetime license, but I never thought about checking for a update that is close to the season. I did try to find non-toxic but everything is sold out. You are correct, next year it goes into effect.
