For those interested, I have some of straps from ameristep that still have the hooks attached. You may want to add some additional stitching, as I cut one seam to remove the step.

@redsquirrel that's a different boat buckle than I'm using. I like yours better. It looks like it has a longer handle for more leverage.

You can buy the hooks at strapworks.com. They have just about anything for making straps.

It might be a little longer but I don't think its much. But I like how its mostly black and has that little rubber cover. I think it was bowhunter15 who found this one.

I agree, I like the original better. This one also has a couple of nubs that you have to click past to get the thing into the correct position. The only thing I like better about it is the plastic handle portion and the black color.

Yeah, the handle is definitely nicer. I ended up stealth stripping the old style and am now using it on my 4th arrow camera arm
