Thanks Robert , I just ordered the bullman steps also that Bob made a video about. I will get one of the straps that everyone is using. My next question is how is everyone keeping the ratchet quiet or less noisy when attaching to the tree ?

I like the bullman steps but be careful
When you foot is on the step almost straight on. My foot slipped off a few times while practicing in my yard
Make sure your feet or the pressure from your feet are pushing on the step from the side. If you know what i mean by that. Just be careful my brotha
Just a little tip from experience with the steps so far lol
Merry xmas brotha

Thanks I appreciate the tip , I will not receive the steps till after my season closes , so I will have plenty of time to practice with them. I cant wait till cranford comes out with their version of a ring of steps. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !

after using the OCB for a while, what's the consensus on the best buckle to use? Lot of info on the thread but I'm a bit confused what one to get. RS OCB was recommended but then decided it was a little loosey goosey.
I saw a video posted (I think on this forum) comparing a couple of OCB's. Don't remember where I saw it. Can anyone point me to it?
Everyone still liking the Strapworks strap with a metal hook sewn in (or Amerstep Strap with Hook)?

When I cut these I had no intention of every using the straps again so I didn't pay attention to what I was cutting. Oh well. If anyone wants them, they're yours.
Do you have any left?

For those interested, I have some of straps from ameristep that still have the hooks attached. You may want to add some additional stitching, as I cut one seam to remove the step.

Nah i got same ones but in cammo at walmart. You gotta order. The poly one inch ratchet off of strapworks.com. The strap is real stiff and rigid. Its not flimsy if you know what i mean. I ordered 2 i think it was 25$ with shipping
Ask bobby. About them he sent me link to it ill see if i can find the link

If you ever come up with that link I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure I'm looking at the right stuff. Still getting educated here.

This is the one I am using. I can’t imaging there is a better one considering its size, weight, tightness and how quiet it is. Before this I was using a ratchet strap. You can get this just as tight without the noise and bulk

yeah, that's the one. Man, that looks tiny on your strap. Amazing that it tightens the strap so tight.

That's the one I use. Nothing I else I have used compares to it. It is small and I can get it really tight.

Can some one post a clip on how the boat buckle from Amazon works. I purchased one, it does cam over but does not lock. I do not know if the buckle is the problem or is it me, or did it come threaded through the buckle wrong from the manufacturer?

You have to completely take it off the strap it cane on and put it on a strap with a flat hook. No promises but I’m going to try to start putting some videos together in the next few weeks.

I finally have ameristeps for my run and gun platform and just ordered the boat buckle that you have listed here , I am going to have the same set up as the pic you posted .... any tips or tricks when using the boat buckle ? Is it a pain to get off the tree after you cam it down ? Thanks !

Just set it up and practice with it before you want to hunt to figure out what works. What I do is pull the strap through to tighten it up all the way, then I wiggle the buckle to loosen it a bit and then cam it over. If you try to cam it over with it tightened all the way you won't be able to do it.You need to find that spot where you're able to cam it over but still get it super tight. I am not using ameristeps right now because I have some other small aluminum steps that I like, but the boat buckle set up is my go to set up and nothing beats it IMO.
