Tired of paying for straps and knaiders and anything else made of nylon of rope or whatever!! Also can make my own pouches and canvsas stuff!! I bought the Singer Heavy Duty 4432 sewing maching, Looks like it does leather and heavy canvas and webbing very well. Any one else have one of the Heavy Duty Singers?? Shawn

I see you have dove head first into the rabbit hole. LOL I do not have that machine but I do have a PFAFF 1117 that my wife lets me use and it has done pretty good on three layers of seatbelt belting etc.. I built my wife a 12'X24' sewing room that is FULL of machines and sewing stuff. If I run into problems it is nice to have her expertise to guide me along.
I used to do Revolutionary War living history and I made all my clothing and things on this machine.
I have made all my saddling equipment.

Only trouble I have run into is getting some thicknesses under the presser foot to be able to sew it. Also with this webbing where it has been melted on the edge it makes it very hard and when the needle hits this it will not penetrate it. I have to lift the presser foot and move the piece just a hair to sew.

Yep, with the price that factory stuff cost you can purchase a machine and make your own cheaper.

Thanks guys, yeah my daughter has sewn some so I basically bought it for me but gave it to her and she is only 2 miles away. I figure she can teach me and we both benefit. Should be here next Monday!! I have two projects I am gonna try first thing. Making a Canvas pack for my new Ridgerunner XL and covering it with some fleece material and making some 10 ft straps for bigger trees. I bought 5/8ths nylon tubular webbing for them. Should be pretty cool!! Thanks again! Shawn
