What are y’all using to hang your bow? I’ve tried hanging mine from the top limb but in order to get my grip at chest level that puts the rest of my gear hanging above my head.

I also like to keep my quiver attached so I’ve been searching for something that sets my bow a little off the tree. I thought about tying a small loop of paracord where the quiver attaches to the top limb to get the gear hanger a bit lower but haven’t found the right strap and hook system that sets the bow far enough off the tree.

Anybody have the same issue?

Following, I need something public land legal and works for both saddle and hang on hunting.

I tied a small parachord loop at the top of my quiver. I put a small zip tie inside it to hold it open. It keeps my bow at normal hand level and my bag there too. I had this same problem until I did this.

Looks like a good option, that’s pretty much what I had in mind. Good idea about the zip tie, I wouldnt have thought of that.

I’ve put the gear hook in the quiver hood to hold the bow too.

I have 2 issues with this method. It works, but my feathers are hitting the tree, making noise in the wind. Also if I’m hang on hunting I have to move around to get the bow.

I’ve seen a strap on version of the folding screw in style hangers and that might be the best option

I have some kydex coming and I’m going to try and put a piece on my quiver to hang that separately and one on my bow. The huge advantage to that is if you are using a ring of steps you can grab your bow and put it anywhere around the tree without the need of moving your hook or having multiple hooks

If it will hang this bow with all the Mickey Mouse equipment it should hold a traditional no issues.
It will hang it, but removing your quiver leaves only hanging it by the limb and string. My experience is this wedges the bow holder under the string making it difficult to remove when you need to.

Take a look at this thread. It may be adaptable to a recurve.

Thanks for the ideas fellas. I ended up looping some paracord with a couple cut down zip ties stuffed in them. It stands up perfect and holds its shape.

As for my strap I ended up getting a cheap-o gear strap from Amazon that showed up today. Pine Ridge Hunt-n-Gear Hanger. The hooks are deep enough that it holds my bow out away from the tree. My quiver fletchings still touch the tree but that’s something I think I’ll just have to deal with, beings that the fulcrum is so high as well as the balance of the bow in general.

Love the EFAs man. I need to get another one.

They are the best. Perfect size. 4 arrow quiver - 3 broadheads and one judo point. I have a selway slide on and it’s nice but it’s just too big for my hunting bow. I put it on my Ben Pearson that doesn’t get knocked around in the woods.

Interesting that you have both. I was considering something else (other than EFA) for my practice bow. I just love how the 4 arrow feels like nothing is there.

Is the selway good enough for a practice rig?

My practice rig is longer and heavier than my hunting rig so the Selway doesn’t feel as big/off balanced on that bow. It’s a great quiver in its own right, I just prefer the EFA in the woods. The rubber slide on slots fit like a glove and they make the bow a lot softer shooting in the hand - which is nice.

For stand hunting I’m going with this setup. I’ll replace the ratchet strap with a cam buckle
