Bow restoration

You many want to review the hours of hand sanding and recountouring he did on a 100-dollar bow if you doubt the DIY dedication of @Red Beard lol
true, however i think you are still all underestimating how painstakingly difficuly (and unnecessary) it is to sand off one coat of finish, while leaving a different one behind. but (no backtracking here either lol) i do admit i underestimated this particular dude's patience. i still stand by my statements, but would love to be proven wrong. in detailed photo-blog buildalong form. did i just ask for a thread with lots of pictures of sanding? does anyone know a guy that likes to do that?

Everything I spray paint the paint falls off easy but everything that has been spray painted that I want to remove....is difficult to remove........whats going on there?

Whatever ends up happening with this bow doesn't matter...the deers super keen UV vision will see it

Did the last owner spray it with spray paint or a clear matte finish? If it’s a clear finish, you don’t need to remove anything. Dad routinely, refinishes bows simply by lightly sanding the old finish and re-spraying. He just redid this bow for me a few weeks ago.

Edit: The attached pic is actually between coats when he wrote the name on the limb. I will try to remember to get a pic of the final product. The imperfections you can see in the pic below don't show anymore.
