Bowline knots suck.

Simplicity is probably the only advantage I see. You can tie it one handed, blindfolded pretty easily, so if you are hanging in the tree stuck in the dark and need a simple knot that must be tied with one hand it is the knot for you. Other than that I got nothing.

MAYBE no longer, but a year ago CRUZR was using a Yosemite Bowline to attach their bridges, I do the same.

If I had to guess I think the uni knot, timber hitch, surgeons loop, and truckers hitch are the 1s I use the most. Once I have my 4x4 finished with the winch on there I plan on playing with the timber hitch a bunch. My friend and I pulled a big stump using his dieseler in 4x4 low range, some random steel winch wire that only had an eye on 1end , the timber hitch, and some yeehaw, hold my beer, romping on the throttle. Once the hitch bit in good and all the slack taken out of the coils it held firm. It was no fun to untie but it did what it was supposed to do. I was impressed. 9k lb truck with 500 foot pounds of torque vs.some wire and friction and the only clear loser was the stump
