Is there a method to have the bridge in the shape of a rectangle instead of a triangle? Seems like that would eliminate hip fatigue all together

It would be like a spreader bar on a hammock. I think your balance would be worse and pivoting would require some crazy hardware like pulleys

If your bridge went around the tree it would spread it apart but then you wouldn't be able to pivot.

Notch the PVC on both ends and make sure not to leave any sharp edges. Insert it before you weight the bridge The tension should hold it in place.. Might be better with a piece of oak...
