Hi guys! Was hoping to get some ideas for a platform, I know theres a lot written on here but maybe someone can help guide me. I have been saddle hunting for a few years. My mobile set up has been lone wolf stick and a endless ratchet strap with ameristep strap on plastic steps. Recently while practicing in my yard one of the ameristeps broke and sent me for a tumble. Of course I was strapped to the tree and pretty close to the ground so it was no bug deal but I am not risking it from 30 ft up which is sometimes the height I hunt. Anyway I need something simple, quiet, compact, and light. I looked at cranford rope steps but not sure about using them, would have to over lap the ropes. Seems like a pain. Most of my trees are prepped but theres always that hunt or two where I need to be mobile. Any help is appreciated. I am open to all ideas, I see lots of platforms being used just not sure how to make one or if I can buy one made. Also looked at those jim steps I wanna say they are? Thanks eveyone!

Take a look at the xop kit. The thread is on this page. The hard part it done. You just add the seat and cleats. Send @Erniepower a message and he can get it shipped.
I use the Jim Stepp system. You have to take the stretch out of the ropes and practice with them but I like them. (I have never used a platform so I cannot give you a comparison.) You can get 3 or 4 stepps at the same height and they even have a video on it. Again, this takes practice.

Hope this helps

Are your Ameristeps part of the recall? Check if you still have the broken one. Top Paws are solid if you can find them. You can make your own if you have to. Stepps aren't light but look comfy and solid
