Bullman Silent Approach ROS Platform & Apex Steps

This is my short sit setup with the platform steps. I really like how they feel. Very comfortable on the feet, the angle is just right for leaning, very solid against the tree.

How wide are those platform steps?

I can measure when I get home. I thought they were going to be small but really they are just the right size for my size 12 boot.

20220922_152017.jpg, have not used them yet look solid. Trying to figure out damn camera

I just picked up the old silent approach this past offseason here in the classifieds, run them with the EWO OCB that all the cool kids use. Use 5 of them, and love them. My predator XL is now sidelined except for all day sits, which i might do 2X per year. i’m size 13. I can’t see how either of these variants would be an improvement, but would love to hear reviews from people moving to these from the past Silent approach ROS.

Ordered 5 Platform steps and will have them on Monday. I have Squirrel steps. Treehopper and Pioneer to compare them to. So far like Treehopper the most because they’re wider and easier on the feet. They are a lot bulkier though to carry.

Ok, used them for 30 plus minutes yesterday with the ratchet strap which obviously gets extremely tight but…,platform steps kept slipping down the tree which was a hard barked tree, but shouldn’t have been a problem. Will have to play with them more today

I will be hunting on platform steps Saturday, will know more then

I have been on platform steps for 2 1/2 hours now, I like the way the angle on steps fit to middle of my boot when leaning, comfortable. I have ratchet strap on soft bark tree and they have slid down a little over time. So far I like them

Used the 4 Apex steps this weeks over a 5 hour sit. They're small, light, easy to setup, quiet and are at most comfortable for about 2 hours.

When leaning, their tapered angle can cause your feet to slip to the edge and cause pressure points on your feet (and I was wearing boots with a composite shank) that made it painful by the end of the hunt.

That said, they stuck to the tree well and made it easy to move around the tree and remain stable in any shooting position. If I had no idea where I was going and expected to be doing alot of walking along with packing out any meat, I'd stick with the ROS. For shorter hikes into a known area and long sits, I'll stay with a platform.

I have sat on the platform steps only for about 5 sits now. The angle makes leaning very nice and natural without a pressure point. I thought the width was going to be an issue but has not presented one so far. Once seated with a very tight strap they hold solid. I have been running 3 and thinking about 2-3 more to complete my ring.

When my platform steps slid down, the tree I was in was soft , had some moss. I have since put on a stronger strap, no problems now, I run 4, definitely like them
