Anyone used these ? Thoughts? seems light and very minimalist?

The polymer ones with stock strap flipped over on me pretty badly unless on uniform trees and I was being super careful. The ambidextrous shape causes this.

X2 on the bullman pioneer steps. I use the ratchet strap they came with, it’s heavy, but rock solid and I’m sitting around 250. I’m debating on picking up an OCB strap for them if I get a chance to try one first to see how much weight it really saves.

I use them for a ros but swapped out ratchet strap for ocb strap. Seems a lot quiter and easier for me. Takes some practice to keep them oriented when tightening up though. Going to try using them to climb with amsteel strap

I have 7 of the pioneer steps on an OCB strap from Eastern Woods Outdoors. I used it all season and it works great for me. I have toyed with the idea of trying the pioneers on the Amsteel rope for climbing.

To be clear, the guys recommending the pioneer steps… those are the aluminum ones that look amd connect similar to squirrel steps. Those would be my preference. The ones that have the strap underneath really need a somewhat straight even tree or they roll even when cammed really tight. You can get a set of 5 for like $60 which is a good deal

I was definitely think about using the pioneer’s as a climbing method just for the compactness. Seems like they would be very quiet going up a tree .

Yes, the pioneer steps are the aluminum steps.

I used pioneer to climb all season no complaints, get the shoulder sling bag from EWO just stuff them that bag

used his black ones on rachet for ROS best I’ve used

i sold my lwcg mini stick that paired with my .5 and use the pioneer even when I use a stand

how were you attaching the pioneers to the tree when climbing up with them?

The cam straps I’d like to try the amsteel at some point.
